The rose gold "Korona" case, a trademark of the watchmaker, measures 42 mm and is 10.2 mm thick, fitting very smoothly on the wrist. On top of this comes the steel, open "skeleton" dial, featuring two iconic Sarpaneva moons underneath, made of oxidised silver. The moon-phase is revealed through the aperture in the skeleton dial. As always, the serious-looking moons have deep countenance, leaving it up to wearer's interpretation as to what they represent. Overall, the watch makes a statement piece on the wrist.
The bold design is beautifully countered by the simplicity of the hour and minute hands. It is accompanied by a black alligator strap, and an extra strap with a hidden deployant clasp from Sarpaneva.
This watch is powered by the extensively modified Soprod A10 25-jewel automatic movement, beating at a rate of 28,800 A/h. Stepan Sarpaneva favours this movement, and modified it so that the mainplate includes phases of the moon. Mechanically, it is linked to what would be the date function, hence it can be manipulated via the crown. It also features a classic Sarpaneva, skeletonised, steel rotor with two white gold masses and yet another, single hand-engraved moon face. The movement has 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound and has a depth rating of 50 metres.
