The Oyster case is very full and well-proportioned with, of course, the classic slightly faded blue and red bezel which gives this model its Pepsi moniker. The original Rolex Oyster bracelet Ref. 78360 is fitted with correctly numbered 580 end pieces.
As with any collectable item, the completeness of the package will always enhance the future value. This watch retains its original inner and outer boxes, but most importantly has its original punched paperwork; further attached to the paperwork is the case back 1675 sticker. The original plastic wallet is correctly numbered, and contains the translation booklet.
The Rolex GMT Master was first introduced in the early 1950s. The watch went through various changes before the Ref 1675 became the classic GMT model in early 1960. This watch was in production until 1981, when it was replaced with Ref 16750, which had an upgraded movement. As with any design, there is a “sweet spot”; this watch hits that perfectly. The matt dial, plexi-glass and lightly faded bezel gives this example the vintage feel which is so desirable in today’s demanding market place.
