Rolex, perhaps needs no introduction. They have been at the forefront of the watch industry ever since its inception, enjoying such titles as the first ever waterproof watch and the first ever chronometer certified watch, amongst many others.
Rolex is truly a superlative brand, with every single part of the production process, from the smelting of gold, to the manufacturing of screws, done entirely in-house in order to ensure the highest quality and precision. This is not something many brands can boast about. With their world famous Oyster watches, named aptly due to the fact oysters are sealed from the outside environment and has a tough shell, they are similarly impenetrable to water and dust.
Started by Hans Wilsdorf in 1905, they were originally intended as tool watches, capable of withstanding extreme conditions, but because the resulting quality of the watches were so good, they are largely seen today as a luxury item. Can you blame them?
