Vacheron Constantin Two-tone Dial | Cal. 454 | yellow gold

Regular price £5,450
Vacheron knew a thing or two about dress watch design. Firstly, the Art Deco-style, two-tone silver dial; is immediately impressive. The tear-drop lugs add a further layer of vintage elegance and complement the dial perfectly. The applied Roman numerals and tear-drop index markers inject a sense of fun and fluidity into this dress watch, a genre that is often more inclined towards seriousness and formality. A beautiful blue steel seconds hands finish off the face.

The 35 mm mid-size case has a very thin bezel and rounded dome, making the watch appear larger and more modern, on the wrist. The watch also has a round crown and a signed case-back. It features a stunning two-tone dial, blue seconds hand and Roman numerals.

Powered by the Cal. V454, it is a fantastic, 17-jewel movement. Only IWC's Cal. 89 can compare it terms of lifespan and reliability, with the Vacheron top-scoring on the finishing, with Côtes de Genève motif on the bridge. It beats at the standard rate of 18,000 A/h and has an anchor escapement, Breguet overcoil and indirect central seconds (the main difference from Vacheron's 453 with its sub-seconds). And The Cal. V454 was the basis for one of the first Chronometre Royal wristwatch movements - the 1008BS, underpinning its importance.

The watch will come with extracts from the Vacheron & Constantin Archives, guaranteeing its authenticity.
