A rare example of this highly collectable mechanical chronograph made famous by the late Scottish racing driver, Jim Clark OBE. The watch is in great overall, condition with a very full angular 40mm stainless steel case.

The movement is the classic Valjoux calibre 72, with 17 working jewels. The black dial is beautifully detailed, with the distinctive Enicar Saturn logo, silver subsidiary dials, Tritium markers and baton hands. The whole look of the watch is further lifted by the grey ghost inner tachymeter surround, with red dot seconds countdown hand. The screw case back is dated 1967, with the Sherpa 300 clamshell logo.

The Enicar Sherpa Graph was first launched in 1960, and was adopted by the likes of both Stirling Moss and Jim Clark, within the Formula One racing community as their watch of choice. It was highly regarded both for its sporty looks, and reliable functionality.

Jim Clark in particular was known to own several different versions of this watch and for presenting them to his team to celebrate particular car racing milestones. Jim Clark won the Formula One world championships in 1963 and 1965. He died in a Formula 2 accident in 1968. By the time of his death, he had won 25 Grand Prix races, more than any other driver at the time.

The motor sports aspect, combined with the rising popularity of steel vintage chronographs, makes this very rare watch, a great potential investment piece and a fantastic watch on the wrist.
