A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Moonphase Hommage a Emil Lange 1849-1922 | 231.031 | rose gold

Regular price £27,000
A. Lange & Söhne has become one of the world's great watch brands - challenging Swiss dominance and raising the bar for both the aesthetics and movement design of fine wristwatches. With German tenacity and precision, they are creating pieces that are elegant statements on the wrist, but run on hand-finished movements of the highest calibre.

This limited edition A. Lange & Söhne's makes a stunning statement dress watch. Despite its modest mid-sized case (by today's standards, at least), thanks to the relative thickness and 3 mm-wide bezel, it has presence on the wrist. Combining Lange's characteristic pink gold case with a matt black dial, it is as cool as it gets. With alternating applied dots, stars and an Arabic numerals as index markers, as well as the Plough (Great Bear) constellation and a beautiful Moonphase display, the dial is just stunning to look at.

The steadfastness of this Glasshütte creation does not end with its timeless design. The Moonphase complication is designed to stay accurate for 1000 years. Classically with A. Lange  & Söhne, it's the movement that really steals the show. Viewed through the open case back, is the classically Saxon three-quarter bridge and the patented balance spring, but also the free-hand engraved balance cock. The hand-finishing is simply fantastic, with all angles polished and surfaces decorated. It also has a 45-hour power reserve.

The watch was created in 1999 to honour the 150th birthday of the son of A. Lange  & Söhne's founder, Emil Lange. He continued his father's commitment to expanding precision horology. Something the new A. Lange & Söhne still pursues.

Choosing a dress watch is never easy - but this rose-gold and black dial combination is an easy choice. Between the quality of the movement and its design, this rose gold A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Moonphase Hommage a Emil Lange Ref. 231.031 is sure to be a classic in many years to come.
