A Collected Man is a growing startup, based in Central London, specialising in the online retail of rare watches. We’re looking for an ambitious and talented person to join our sales team.
The Specialist will be responsible for sourcing rare timepieces on behalf of A Collected Man, as well as advising clients on their collections and responding to any enquiries related to specific watches available for sale. They will also manage all other aspects of the listing process, notably researching and writing detailed listings for the website.
The right candidate need not have a pre-existing knowledge of the watch industry (although this would be a plus) but must have an entrepreneurial attitude and intellectual curiosity, seeking to understand the dynamics of the vintage and pre-owned watch market. A willingness to burden-share where necessary and a high level of self-motivation and discipline are also expected. A Collected Man is a startup and adaptability is key to fitting-in to the team.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Manage the acquisition and consignment of rare timepieces on behalf of A Collected Man through our existing network and channels, as well as seek out new avenues for sourcing important timepieces;
Constantly monitor and analyse the vintage and pre-owned watch market, in order to understand overall market trends, hypothesise over the evolution of the market and, as a result, identify potential opportunities;
Carry out research on specific watches, in order to write detailed descriptions for the website covering historical significance, aesthetic properties and any other noteworthy characteristics;
Manage all other aspects of the listing process, including the receipt of a watch, inspection, servicing, coordinating photography, uploading on the website as well as relevant SEO requirements;
Advise clients on their collections and respond to any email, social media, website and telephone enquiries related to specific watches available for sale;
It may be necessary to provide additional assistance to the client, as part of the after-sales process, or to assist with any concerns relating to straps and accessories, a growing but nascent focus of the business;
There may be an occasional need to travel on behalf of the business, to meet clients or to carry-out other responsibilities.
Remuneration: Based on experience, with a basic salary ranging from £24,000 to £30,000 per annum, plus bonus (based on performance).
